DemoYouth Project: Paving the Way for Active Youth Participation in Democracy
A Milestone in Youth Empowerment
Recently, online preparatory meetings were held for the upcoming mobility phase of the DemoYouth project. This meeting marked an important step in our journey towards exploring the concepts of democracy and active participation.
Objectives: Fostering Engagement and Participation
The project’s objectives are ambitious yet vital for promoting a new generation of active citizens. They include:
- Engaging in Dialogue: Developing the capacity of young participants to engage in meaningful dialogue with decision-makers, utilizing non-formal learning tools.
- Participation in European Democratic Life: Enhancing the active participation of young people in the democratic processes of Europe, again through non-formal learning methods.
- Involvement in Social Life: Encouraging the active involvement of young individuals in social activities, focusing on local contexts in Hungary, Romania, Greece, and Poland.
Collaborative Efforts for Inclusivity and Acceptance
During the project’s framework, there was a focus on discussions with group leaders from different regions. These discussions centered around strategies to ensure active participation of all members, promoting inclusivity and mutual acceptance. A key goal was to create a safe and welcoming environment, where every participant feels valued and heard.
A Visual Representation of Our Journey
The image above captures the essence of our online meeting. It shows a diverse group of young people, each representing different European countries, actively engaged in discussions about democracy and participation. This setting, filled with laptops, headphones, and notes, symbolizes the collaborative and educational spirit of the DemoYouth project.
The project was financed with the support of the European Commission through Erasmus+ Programme. This blog reflects only the author’s views, and the Commission cannot be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.
