FAKE FACT

The idea of this project comes from the consideration that European young societies are becoming more open and diverse day by day, notably due to the new trends and the media environment of the European Union. Despite these changes, some part of the youngsters remain behind, and still, they cannot observe the differences between fake and real news.
Furthermore, during the program, we discuss the main characteristics of the lifestyle/leisure/vision of today’s young people, and how they are influenced by the media and social media. Regardless, we will analyze articles published in various news portals (real or false).

The project aims to achieve the following objectives:

– to develop youngsters’ skills to better identify fake news;
– to spread awareness among local communities about how to deal with social media and news platforms;
– to improve the abilities of young participants to enhance know-how and practical experience about the fake news issues;
– to create digital magazine guidelines and video material about the impact of fake news;
– to promote a sense of civic responsibility, social inclusion and tolerance towards minorities;
– to improve the abilities of young participants to enhance communication skills and self-esteem;
– to enhance intercultural participation and competencies of youth about cultural heritage.

Participant’s profile:

• Is between 18 and 30 years old;
• Has Romanian Nationality;
• Holds valid EU Digital COVID Certificate at the time of the mobility (fully vaccination – including booster in case more than 9 months passed since the last dose; recovery from the disease in the past 6 months); 
• Presents knowledge/interest in the topic;
• Is motivated to participate in this youth exchange;
• Is open to diversity and interculturality;
• Assume that they will share with others the knowledge, attitudes and abilities learned and that they will be actively involved in all stages of the project.

Group leaders:

• No age limit;
• Holds valid EU Digital COVID Certificate at the time of the mobility (fully vaccination – including booster in case more than 9 months passed since the last dose; recovery from the disease in the past 6 months);
• Have interpersonal and communication skills, team spirit, strategic thinking oriented to results;
• Promote a positive attitude at the group level;
• Have coordination, planning and organization skills;
• Have an advanced level of English;
• Have experience in volunteering, non-formal education and youth;
• Have competencies to evaluate the learning process of young people.

Selection:

• Fitting in the participants’ profile;
• Motivation to participate and the quality of the application;
• Euroactive NGO volunteers and the members of the communities where we are activating have priority;
• Gender balance;
• Priority will be given to young people with fewer opportunities and young people who have not participated in the Erasmus + program until now.

Deadline to apply: 15th of June, 2022

Number: 5 participants + 1 group leader (18+ years old)

The selection results will be sent by email to all candidates at the latest 17th of June 2022.

Transportation: The transportation will be by car. The driver and the car will be provided by Euroactive NGO. All the travel details will be further discussed with the whole team, after the selection process.

Costs:

1. The participation costs (transportation, accommodation, food, materials etc.) will be covered by the organizers. 

2. The selected candidates must advance the an amount of 50 euro for the transportation in order to reduse the risks of last moment drop-out from the project. The money will be reimbursed in maximum 2 weeks after the project.

3. Travel insurance is mandatory and must be covered at your own expense.

5. An amount of 25 euro will be perceived by the sending organization as a co-financing of the participant to the project (not applied to Euroactive volunteers and young people with fewer opportunities).
