“Include, Connect &
Re-Generate” Framework
We are excited to share the Include, Connect & Re-Generate framework – a practical guide for anyone working to involve young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, in meaningful community regeneration.
Developed through collaboration between partners from Germany, Italy, and Romania, this framework offers concrete ideas, tools, and examples that can be adapted to different local realities. It is built around four guiding principles:
-
Community Regeneration – breathing new life into communities through inclusive action and shared responsibility.
-
Youth Inclusion – ensuring that young people are not only invited but genuinely involved in shaping their environment.
-
Intergenerational Connections – building stronger links between generations through shared learning and collaboration.
-
Youth Empowerment – enabling young people to take the lead, make decisions, and bring their ideas to life.
Inside, you’ll find:
-
Activity ideas – from youth-led events and intergenerational workshops to social hackathons and urban gardening.
-
Youth roles – showing how young people can contribute as leaders, mentors, researchers, or media creators.
-
Policy suggestions – practical ways to make participation more accessible, from simplifying bureaucracy to improving communication.
-
Program elements – adaptable components for building long-term, sustainable youth engagement.
The framework draws on real experiences from three very different regions – Thuringia (Germany), Valle d’Aosta (Italy), and Curtea de Argeș (Romania) – highlighting the shared challenges and opportunities for youth participation across Europe.
Whether you are part of a municipality, NGO, youth group, or community initiative, this resource is designed to be flexible and easy to use. You can work with it as a whole or focus on specific sections that match your goals.
