About the project
Imagine a place where your love for movies meets your passion for making a difference. That’s what “MoviMent” was all about!
It was a journey that brought together young people from seven countries -Romania, Türkiye, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, Greece, and Bulgaria – to create change through the power of film. We believe everyone should have a voice,, so we aimed to give young people the chance to speak up, by creating films on issues that matters to them.
The goal of the project was to equip young people with the digital competencies required to effectively communicate their visions and influence societal change through film.
This project united a love for movies with a passion for making a difference, creating a warm space where storytelling and social impact came together.
Proejct objectives
Digital Skills
Develop participants’s digital skills in film production, storytelling, and multimedia content creation, including scripting, shooting, and editing, to support them express their voices.
Raise Awareness
Raise awareness about social, environmental, and community-specific issues, including challenges faced by young people, by producing 6 short movies that target these themes.
Inclusive Communities
Create an inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, networking, and cultural exchange, breaking down barriers and building a supportive community of young people.
How we did it?
Skill-Building Workshops
Participants engaged in interactive workshops focused on film production skills, covering essential techniques like storytelling, scripting, camera use, and editing. These sessions were hands-on, allowing participants to directly practice and refine each new skill.
Collaborative Film Projects
Working in teams, participants applied their skills by creating short films on topics that mattered to them. This involved brainstorming ideas, developing scripts, shooting footage, and editing, enabling participants to bring their projects to life through teamwork and creativity.
Cultural Exchange
Participants engaged in cultural nights to share traditions, went on group outings to explore the local area, and participated in team-building games designed to build trust and strengthen group dynamics. These experiences helped deepen appreciation for each other’s backgrounds, fostered a supportive environment, and built strong connections within the group.
Reflection and Evaluation
Each day ended with reflective sessions, where participants discussed their learning experiences, shared challenges, and celebrated successes.
The project results
The project achieved impactful results, with participants creating six short films addressing issues that matter to them. These films showcased their digital skills in storytelling, filming and editing, highlighting their ability to communicate meaningful messages. Additionally, the project fostered strong intercultural connections, promoting mutual understanding and collaboration. Reflection sessions revealed increased confidence in digital competencies and a deeper awareness of pressing social topics, empowering participants to continue making a difference in their communities.
