Off the Grid – Finding Ourselves
Off the grid – or how to realize that your life is much more than the screen of a phone, more than the coverage of the mobile data network, and more than everything you know maybe far too well and already seems normal to you. Perhaps a project of awareness, learning and change, a project in which each of us has learned important lessons about those and what surrounds us, but especially about us, about what we represent in front of others, but also more importantly, about what we represent in front of ourselves.
We realized that the world we live in stretches far beyond the limits of the known, that people are more complex and different than we could have ever imagined, and that those who were unknown to us became our friends and our friends… Friends can become family.
We have learned about love, and although we will never be able to fully understand it, we have come a little closer, once again, to its magic. We realized the complexity of missing someone and how much both the presence and either the absence of a person can hurt.
We cried, we laughed, we loved, we had courage and we were afraid. We may have wished we had done more in some moments, in others less, but in the end, I think everything happens with a reason in the right quantity.
We played, we searched for treasures, we ran to happiness, we were kings, queens, emperors with empresses or just children who slept together in a wagon whose walls witnessed the quiet days or noisy nights of a lot of young souls who accepted the challenge of this project.
We crossed barriers and conquered mountains, we went through fire and rains, we crossed whirling waters and we threw ourselves without fear towards the unknown. We survived and even became better, stronger, more understanding, calm and confident. All these in only 9 days.
It was a project of change that brought us a little closer to who we will be, to what we want to be. It represented a twist in life, a turning point that stabilized us on the right path to our own good.
At the end of the day, I truly believe that life is all about spending your days with people you love, doing the things you love, fulfilling your deepest passions while falling more and more in love with yourself and everyone surrounding you. When you do all the things with love, you live your life with so much purpose and meaning, and that’s what makes a life worth living, that’s what makes it memorable, that’s what makes it special.
I am grateful for the opportunity I had, for the moments I lived, for what I learned and discovered about the world, about people, but especially about myself, all this only with your help.
I love, I have courage and I’m afraid.
I LOVE YOU!
